The CompactFlash Card for the Photographer who has Everything (Else)

Sandisk 128GB 100MB CompactFlash CardSandisk is now shipping the ultra-fast, ultra-high capacity 128GB 100 MB/s (about 600x)—that’s not a typo, it’s really 128 Gigabytes, bigger than many laptop hard drives were just a couple years ago. You can get it from B&H for $1199. If that is too rich for your blood then our new favorite value champion is the Transcend 16GB 600x CompactFlash Extreme Plus UDMA Card—available from B&H for $79.95. We have one and it benchmarks faster than our 400x cards and is only $20 more. A small price to pay if it gets you the final shot in an amazing action sequence.

Luncheon Talk on "Take Photographs Like a Pro" by David Cardinal Next Wednesday

I'm speaking at the local Princeton Club next week on Wednesday about "Taking Better Photographs." It's open to the public--you just need to pay $15 for lunch in advance. I'll show some photos (of course) and give everyone some tips on better vacation photography as well as always popular kid's sports tips and ideas on photo trips. If you live near Palo Alto, California I hope to see you there! You can read more about the talk as well as sign up online at the PCNC website or with the event information below. Read more »

Shoot First, Get the Book Out Later

I'm not completely sure I knew there was a white morph of the Reddish Egret until two weeks ago, and I certainly don't think I'd seen one before that...
