The Ultimate D300 (and D200) Eye-cup

As regular readers are more than aware, one of my biggest gripes about Nikon's "mini-pro" cameras like the D300 and D200 (and other mid-range models all the way down to the D40) is that they do not have the excellent locking eyepiece system of the D3 and D700 which allows the DK-2 eye cup to securely lock onto the camera. DXOLabs is now publishing a free website--DXOMark--featuring their test results from dozens of camera models. Their tests are confined to the raw sensor data not overall camera features or performance, but if you're curious about an objective measurement of image quality this is a great site. Read more »
